Each sounds rather distinct, and it is clear that narrator Richard Poe is changing something from character to character in order to achieve this variety of "voice."

This project will examine the importance of speech rate and pitch in Poe's narration of Angels and Demons, and to what extent these two factors are used to distinguish the speech style of male versus female characters.

Analysis will also be applied towards an individual character to character basis, and I will also look at the effect of contextual and emotional factors on the speech rate and pitch.
